EuRADE Research Summer School July 2008
Extending DPOs' capacity to participate in Disability Equality Research
Monday July 21st - Friday July 25th 2008
Weetwood Hall Hotel and Conference Centre,
Leeds, UK

Open to EDF members, the EuRADE Summer School took place in Leeds on July 21-25th 2008.
The main purpose of it was to increase the capacity of disabled people's organisations (DPOs) to actively participate in future disability equality research. It enabled participants to:

- Understand the research methods and approaches used to investigate disability equality and non-discrimination
- Learn about the was in which disabled people have been involved in previous research projects
- Acquire sufficient research knowledge and skills to begin actively participating in the design of selected research proposals

As to reach these objectives, participants were introduced to the work of a variety of academics, from different disciplines and different countries, who carry out participatory research with people with disabilities and their organisations. In addition, participants were provided with trainings to enable them to elaborate their own research proposals.
